Small Animal Emergency Services

A web site for Small Animal Emergency Services of Aberdeen, North Carolina. It uses the Plone content management system, Google maps, and donation processing.

docat-er.com screenshotWhen Dr. Ann Turner decided she needed a web site for her small animal emergency clinic in Aberdeen, North Carolina she contacted me.  She enjoyed the visual design of another site I had designed for local dressage trainer Vicki Kelley (my wife) located at www.AntaresDressage.com

Dr. Turner wanted a visually appealing site which included her own dogs and cats in the design.  Many of these animals were past patients of hers who needed a home after care.

After further discussion, I learned that Small Animal Emergency Services (DogCat-ER.com) needed more than just an online brochure.

They needed a way to schedule employee shifts online and allow employees  to view a graphical monthly schedule as well as the ability to submit change requests.  As a result, I created a schedule application that allows employees to request shifts, view finalized schedules and request shift changes in a passord protected area of the site.

The site also needed a map to allow clients to find the clinic.  A customized google map was created  noting points of interest as well as allowing clients to get directions.

Site Utilizes:
  • Custom web based schedule application
  • Workflow to delegate publishing to employees
  • Custom Google Maps For Driving Directions
  • Local Vet Directory based on Google maps
  • Custom photography and graphic design
  • Google automated sitemap- updates Google real time with site changes to keep notify Google of site changes.
