The Founder of Twitter- Video
One of the co-founders of twitter explains his ideas on how he developed and his way of thinking about play and experimentation. Biz Stone could lectures at the UC Berkeley Hass School of Business.
Back around 2000, I attended a lecture at the UC Berkeley Business campus with an old employer back where one of the founders of the Asian telecom giant NTT Docomo talked about the coming of 3G wirelss technology and what impact that would have on society. On the way home, my boss, the founder of the startup where I worked, got a call his new Mercedes 500's in car cell phone. His stock broker called to tell him all of his stock had been sold out from under him and he was basically broke. That was end of the company. Sure the doors stayed open a little longer while potential purchasers were courted, but other than the founders' personal assistant, I was the only employee left standing. I bailed for a safe government job as the dot com bubble quickly deflated.
It is really exciting to see the Internet trends and businesses getting back to the level of energy that was around before the bubble burst. One can do so many extraordinary things that simply could not be done before.
Check out this video with the Twitter founder explaining the birth and what they learned from users. Unfortunately The UC Berkeley Hass School of business does not appear to allow one to embed the video but is very worth the watch.
